The Record Album is delighted to announce that the name of its beloved former long time proprietor George Ginn lives on in Brighton.
Brighton & Hove Buses have honoured him by naming a new bus after him and it is currently plying the new 1X express route between Mile Oak and the Marina. We caught up with it at Norfolk Square recently and felt an immediate sense of pride.
George passed away in 2023 at the grand old age of 93 and the bus naming deservedly reflects the part he played in the cultural life of the city. The Record Album is the oldest record shop in Brighton and George owned it for more than 50 years up to 2018.
